Ingredients

  • 1.5 cups warm water
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 packet of activated dry yeast
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 4-1/4 cups flour
  • 1-1/2 teaspoons of salt

Instructions

Combine water and sugar into a bowl and sprinkle yeast on top. Let stand 2-5 minutes or until it appears foamy.

Stir in oil and slowly add in the flour and salt while mixing thoroughly. It will begin to thicken. Continue to knead with your hands while adding flour until it becomes elastic-like and not sticky.

Rub the dough down with some oil and place back in the bowl in a warm, heated area.

Let rise for ~ 1 hour in which it should double in size.

When dough is done rising separate into three dough balls (about three medium pizzas) and flatten out with a rolling pin.

Top with your favorite toppings and cook over a pizza stone or cookie sheet in the oven at 400 degrees.

Need some ideas for toppings other than just pepperoni? Use your favorite veggies like mushrooms, cheese, an onion, and a bell pepper and make a vegetable pizza. Another idea would be to use ham, cheese and pineapple to make a Hawaiian pizza. If you are feeling daring, try to make a pizza with arugula lettuce and crumbled blue cheese!!! Great!
